Mary A. (Leone) Ashbaugh

Mary A. Leone Ashbaugh, 95, of Nowrytown, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at St. Andrews Village in Indiana, Pa. surrounded by her loving family. She was born Wednesday, September 7, 1921 in Iselin, Pa. the daughter of the late Jesse and Frances DeAngelis Leone. Mary was a member of St. Matthew Roman Church in Saltsburg, Pa., where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Fannie Sellins Lodge in Avonmore. Mary owned and operated her own beauty shop in Nowrytown until her retirement in 1976. She was also employed at Federal Laboratories in Saltsburg, and was a greeter at K- Mart in her early eighties.   She enjoyed flower gardening, making fleece blankets, adult coloring and her trips to the casino. She is survived by a son, Patrick Ashbaugh and his wife Jackie of Nowrytown and a daughter, Bonnie Aungst and her husband Wallace of Nowrytown, 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Dean “Red” Ashbaugh in 1993, 2 brothers, Mario and Emery Leone and a sister Dolores Leone. Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 400 Indiana Ave, Avonmore, Pa. Parting Prayers Services will be in the funeral home on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10 :00 am with Deacon Dan Frescura, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew Church Cemetery in Saltsburg. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers; Liz and Pam, A New Home Health, 365 Hospice, and Doctor Klain’s office and staff.
