Marie Valjean (Lanning) Boarts

Marie Valjean Lanning Boarts 92, of North Apollo passed away Wednesday July 26, 2017 at West Haven Manor in Washington Twp. She was born August 5, 1924 in North Apollo the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mabel Coulter Lanning. Before her retirement she was employed at West Haven Manor as a nurse’s aide for nine years. Marie was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Apollo, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, and time spent with family.  She is survived by four children; Marna Holzer of North Apollo, Michael Boarts of Kiski Twp., Richard Boarts and his wife Sandra also of Kiski Twp., and Daniel Boarts of Kennesaw, Georgia, four grandchildren; Brian Holzer of West Leechburg, David Holzer and his wife Sarah of Export, Jeffrey Boarts of Pittsburgh, and Timothy Holzer and his wife Tiffany of North Apollo, and three great grandchildren; Kaylee, Dominic, and Malia Holzer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Anderson Boarts, her sister, Mildred MacLean, and her brother Charley Lanning. Family will receive friends on Monday July 31, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa. Services will be conducted on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home with Pastor Philip Ramstad officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
