Lloyd Sallade Jr.

Lloyd Sallade Jr. 91 of Apollo passed away Friday June 16, 2017 at his home. He was born August 26, 1925 in Truxall the son of the late Lloyd(Sr.) and Katherine Louise DePauli Sallade. Before his retirement he was employed by Allegheny Ludlum as a crane operator for over 34 years. Lloyd was a United States Navy Veteran having served during WWII. He enjoyed archery, shooting pool, cars, motorcycles, and socializing at the Polish Club. He is survived by four children; Katherine Stone of Apollo, Gary Lee Sallade and his wife Christine of Vandergrift, Claudia Grimm of North Carolina, and Thomas John Sallade and his wife Tracy of Apollo, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and a sister Adeline Caliguri of Lower Burrell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty years, Sarah Sallade, in 2000.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo, Pa. Interment will take place at 3:00 P.M. in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions be made in Lloyds memory to the Disabled American Veterans, 1000 Liberty Ave., Room 1606, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15222.
