Layden Arthur Wilson

Layden Arthur Wilson, 69, of Spring Church, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.  He was born Wednesday, August 3, 1949 in Natrona Heights, the son of Margaret Sowers Wilson and the late Layden H. Wilson.  He was employed for 33 years with Allegheny Ludlum as a maintenance welder and retired in 2006.  He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Layden was a member of the Apollo United Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder and sang in the choir, a member of the VFW Post 92 in Lower Burrell and he was a Mason. He always enjoyed  helping others, going on vacation, being outdoors working in his yard, working on cars, and especially loved golfing and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy Adams Wilson, 2 children, Joanna Ricchiuto and her husband Michael of Gibsonia and Bryan Wilson and his wife Lisa of Cranberry, 5 grandchildren, Alissa,Trent, Brody, Mia and Tristan, a sister, Lydia Summerhill and her husband Don of Apollo and  his brother-in-laws, Dennis Adams and his wife Lynn of Wilmington, NC, Jay Adams and his wife Debbie of Stoneybrook, NY and Tom Adams and his wife Janet of Murrysville. He was preceded in death by his father, Layden H. Wilson. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. with additional viewing on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Apollo United Presbyterian Church, 401 1st Street, Apollo, Pa. from 10AM to 11AM where services will begin at 11AM, with Pastor Lea Austin, officiating. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Apollo United Presbyterian Church or  “Food for Kids” at 401 1st Street, Apollo, Pa. 15613.
