Jeffery Vernon Chaffins

Jeffery Vernon Chaffins 65, of Vandergrift passed away on Thursday August 9, 2018 at his home. He was born Friday June 26, 1953 in Pikeville, Kentucky the son of the late Edwin and Ruth Ratliff Chaffins. He was a Union Electrician until his retirement in 2007. Jeff was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vandergrift. He was an active member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board for over 21 years. Jeff was a member of the Steamfitters Union, and the Local Credit Union # 380.  He was passionate about helping his fellow man, especially in his own neighborhood.  He was a member of the food bank and tried to reach as many people in need as possible. Jeffery was a “Jack of all trades”, and a music enthusiast.  He will best be remembered for his devotion to family, he was a loving Father and Grandfather.  He is survived by his wife, Donna Bier Chaffins, two children; Alex Chaffins of Vandergrift, and Skyler Chaffins (Cassandra) of Indiana, two grandchildren; Layla and Gauge Chaffins of Indiana, and two brothers; Gregory Chaffins (Laura) of Florida and John Chaffins of Texas. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Chaffins. At Jeffery's request all arrangements are Private.
