Emma Luella Flickinger Kaufman, 104, of Vandergrift, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at West Haven Manor in Apollo. She was born Sunday, March 15, 1914 in South Bend Township ( Armstrong County) the daughter of the late David W. and Tillie A. Dunmire Flickinger. She was a member of the North Apollo First Church of God where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society for 41 years. Emma was a 1932 graduate of Vandergrift High School and the only member of her family to graduate from high school. Before her retirement, she worked at the former Kaylor blouse factory as a presser in New Kensington, while raising her family. She enjoyed flowers, feeding birds, crocheting, quilting and making beaded Christmas ornaments. She is survived by 4 children, Eileen Shall of Girty, Doris Heasley and her husband Leon of North Apollo, Lynn Cowan and her husband Larry of Murrysville and Sue Wagner of Apollo, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Kaufman, a daughter, Lorna Kay ( in infancy), a son Ray Kaufman, a grandson Nathan Hawk, 2 son-in-laws, Bob Wagner and Ed Schall, 2 brothers, Paul and Clair Flickinger and her sister Mildred Shirley. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 2PM to 4PM and 6PM to 8PM and Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 9:30AM to 10:30AM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. Funeral services will be held on Wednsesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00AM at North Apollo Church of God with Pastor Robert Shallenberger, officiating. Interment will follow at Elderton Cemetery in Elderton, Pa. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at West Haven Manor for the tremendous care and love that they gave to Emma.
