Emerson Lewis Klingensmith, 86, of Apollo, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born Monday, June 22, 1931 in Apollo, the son of the late Claude L. and Marcella Zimmerman Klingensmith. Before his retirement, he was employed by Allegheny Ludlum in West Leechburg, first as a crane man and then as a roller. He was an United States Army Veteran. Emerson was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Apollo, where he was very active, currently serving as an usher and on the financial committee. He was a member of the American Legion, the Grange and a lifetime member of the Sportsman Club all in Spring Church. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge No. 437 the Shriners the Hillbillies and the Road Runners. He was a past master in the Masonic Lodge in Leechburg. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Ann Oberdorf Klingensmith, 2 sons, David Klingensmith and his wife, Phyllis, of Indiana and Eric Klingensmith and his wife, Joyce, of West Leechburg, 2 grandson, Alan and Larry Klingensmith both of West Leechburg, a sister, Adella of Apollo and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Plazio, and 3 brothers, Alvin, Walter and Donald Klingensmith. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2PM to 5PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11AM in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Apollo. EVERYONE IS TO MEET AT CHURCH. Pastor Phil Ramstad will officiate. Interment will follow in
Riverview Cemetery in Apollo.
