Edwin A. Rowe

Edwin A. Rowe, Jr., 71, of Bell Township (Apollo) passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in the VA H.J. Heinz Division Hospice in Aspinwall, surrounded by his family.  He was born Sunday, August 17, 1947 in North Washington, PA.  The son of the late Edwin A. (Sr.) and G. Maxine Dickey Rowe.  Ed lived in Washington Township and attended grade school and junior high at Washington Township and graduated from Elders Ridge High School in 1968.  Shortly after he graduated, Ed enlisted in the armed services and went to Viet Nam, where he became a veteran of agent orange.  He spent many years in Utah working in the mines and as a truck driver.  Ed was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper and car racing fan also a huge Steeler fan.  He is survived by a brother, Ronald K. Rowe and his wife, Bonnie, of Export, PA, a sister, Karen Cline and her husband, Robert E., of Kiski Township.  A son, Shane B. Rowe, of Apollo and a grandson, Buddy O’Conner, of North Apollo whom he raised.  He is also survived by grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and many many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shauna Marie Rowe-O’Conner.  Ed, even though your name will not be on the “wall” you indeed gave your life for your country, enduring many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and surgeries in the past 20 years.  Victory is yours and your name will be etched in gold in the book of everlasting life.  Thank you for your service, well done Soldier, Rest in Peace, we will love you always.  Family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, from 2PM to 4PM  and 6PM to 8PM in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home, LTD, 1916 Moore Avenue, North Apollo, PA  15673.  An additional hour of viewing will take place Saturday, November 17, from 10AM to 11AM at the time of services, witj Pastor Bob Shallenberger, officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Run Cemetery.
