Donald D. Grinder, 91, of Apollo, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 in Saxonburg, Pa. He was born Sunday, March 20, 1927 in Commodore, Pa., the son of the late Edward B. and Carrie A. Riggle Grinder. Donald was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Apollo. He was an Army veteran having served during World War II. He loved time spent with his family and God. He brought joy to anyone that he was around and would endear himself to them. He enjoyed helping others without expecting anything in return and was a genuine friend to all. He also enjoyed entertaining the residents of the personal care home by playing his guitar and loved a good clean joke. He is survived by his 2 children, Larry Grinder and his wife Judy of Port Huron, Mi. and Amy Hauser and her husband Nolan of Palmyra, Pa., 7 grandchildren, Andrea Paul, Karen Dowden, Nathan Hauser, Sarah Hauser, Adam Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, and Carrie Bennett, 9 great grandchildren, Casie & Camden Paul, Brynn, Mallory & Grant Dowden, Adrian Hauser, Addison & Jaxson Mitchell, and Luke Bennett, a sister Vivian Myers of Leechburg and a dear friend and longtime neighbor, Martha McCutcheon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah E. Beighley Grinder, a daughter, Rebecca Mitchell and 4 brothers and 4 sisters. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Free Methodist Church of Apollo at 11 AM with Reverend David Glass officiating. Interment will be private.
