Robert Alan Aikins

Robert Alan Aikins, 62, of Ontario, New York, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Rochester, New York.  He was born Monday, June 6, 1955 in Apollo, Pa, the son of the late Ernest Sylvester and Helen Mae Kettering Aikins. He was employed as an Electrical Technician at Kaman Automation in Rochester, New York. Robert was a United States Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corp achieving the rank of Corporal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building computers and tinkering with anything electrical. He was an avid Steeler fan. Robert will always be remembered as  a very caring generous man.  He was a member of the PNA #791 and the Slovak Club(The Milan Stefanik Slovak Society) in East Vandergrift. He is survived by 2 brothers, E. Raye Aikins and his wife, Helga of Salisbury, MD., William Aikins and his wife, Sarah of Spring Church, Pa., 2 sisters, Linda Truskowsky of Mahanoy City, Pa. and Tracy Bono and her husband Michael of Leechburg, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephews . He was preceded in death by his parents. Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 9AM to 1PM in the Kelly L Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa  15673. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1PM, with the Reverend Neal Galley, officiating. Interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery in Apollo, Pa. with full military honors.
