Perry Fred Dallara

Perry Fred Dallara, 91, of Avonmore, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Indiana Square Personal Care Home in Indiana, Pa. He was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Avonmore. He was a son of Louisa (Pronati) and August Dallara. Perry was a World War II veteran, having served with the Navy. During his service, Perry was stationed on a ship carrying supplies to the soldiers in the South Pacific. After returning home from the war, he was employed by the National Roll Foundry in Avonmore (Akers), where he worked in the mill shop. Following his retirement from the foundry, Perry enjoyed his family, his home and his friends. He loved gardening, planting both vegetable and flower gardens. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends in the local Avonmore establishments. In his later years, Perry, along with his caretaker, Mary Sinclair, enjoyed going to the casinos, shopping for flowers and eating out in different restaurants. Perry was a member of the Avonmore Italian Club, LOOM No. 37, Apollo Elks, PNA No. 1234 and the American Legion Post No. 57. Perry is survived by a son, Gerry Lee Dallara, of Fredericksburg, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Perry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda; and all his brothers and sisters. Family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 400 Indiana Ave., Avonmore. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating.
