Mikell Elizabeth (Noel) Cribbs

Mikell Elizabeth Cribbs, 78 of Saltsburg, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2017 after a lengthy illness.  She was born on May 13, 1938 to Lloyd T. and Edna Elizabeth (Jones) Noel.  On June 21, 1958, she married C. Clair Cribbs, the love of her life.  Together they enjoyed countless adventures, traveling on their motorcycle to 48 states and Canada.  Employed at IUP Hadley Student Union, Mikell worked as an Administrative Assistant.  She was a 65-year member of the Saltsburg Presbyterian Church, where she actively served as an Elder, Deacon, Choir Director and Sunday School Teacher.  While wintering in Florida, she was also a choir member at the First Presbyterian Church of Arcadia.  She had the voice of an angel and sang to the glory of God.   Mikell was a devoted wife and awesome mother, kind, loving and fun to be with.  Nothing brought her more joy than her beloved grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Clair, four children, Carl (Spike) Carnahan of Clarksburg, Debbie Hill and husband Tom (Joe) of Home, Dan Cribbs and wife Misty of Saltsburg and Gary Cribbs and wife Barb of Delmont, nine grandchildren, Chris (Alyssa) Carnahan, Michelle Carnahan, Wendy (Jeff) Weeks, Sara (Josh) Ryen, Sean McKee, Emma Cribbs, Garrett Cribbs, Claire Cribbs, Sophia Cribbs and two great-grandchildren, Adeline Carnahan and Roman Elensky, as well as her “adopted” daughter Kim Etzel, husband Bill & boys Billy & Brenden.  She was a compassionate friend and “mother” to any child in need of love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Anona Lea Moore and Mary Olive Taylor and one brother, Lloyd T. Noel, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Saltsburg Presbyterian Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of the Saltsburg Presbyterian Church, 517 Salt St., Saltsburg, PA 15681. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kelly L.
