Mark RagoJanuary 2, 1924 ~ October 11, 2017 (age 93)
Mark Rago Sr. 93 of Washington Twp. passed away Wednesday October 11, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. He was born January 2, 1924 in Rimersburg, Pa. the son of the late Nicola and Mary Ferrari Rago. Before his retirement he was employed by Wean United in Vandergrift as a chipper. He also owned and operated Moran’s Building Wreckers (Srap Yard) for over 38 years. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Mark was a POW at the Battle of the Bulge. He loved woodworking, Stain glass, rug making, masonry work, and watching any and all Pittsburgh sports teams. He is survived by four children; Karen A. Grantz and her husband Blair of Bethel Twp., M. Renee Gazarick and her husband Joseph of Allegheny Twp., Mark Rago Jr. and his wife Dolores of Oklahoma Borough, and Tracy T. Rago and his wife Sherri of Washington Twp., eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great child, and a longtime friend Margie Kaiser of Spring Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Doris Jean Hoak Rago, one sister, Cassie Izzi, and three brothers; Savino, Nicola, and Thomas Rago. Family will receive friends on Sunday October 15, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo. Services will be conducted in the funeral home at 8:00 P.M. with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. A Grave side service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell with full Military Honors. All attending should meet at the funeral home Monday at 10:15 A.M.
