M. Elaine Byers

M. Elaine Byers, 88, of Cabot, Pa. formally of Apollo, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, Cabot, Pa. She was born July 8, 1929 in North Apollo, the daughter of the late Charles S. & Myrtle E. Stitt Byers. Before her retirement in 1983, she was employed first as an office employee at Alcoa Tech Center in New Kensington for 23 years and then by Apollo School District as a bookkeeper. She was a former member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vandergrift where she served in various capacities. She is now a member of St Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, Pa. Elaine was a volunteer at the information desk at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in East Franklin. She enjoyed working on computers, reading and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank C. Byers, sister in law, Myrtle M. Hilty Byers and 2 nephews, Frank C. Byers Jr. and Donald W. Byers. At Elaine’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kelly L Corridoni Funeral Home LTD, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo, Pa.
