James Theodore "Teddy" Speedy

James Theodore “Teddy” Speedy 63 of Avonmore passed away on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at Excela Health, in Latrobe. He was born January 15, 1953 in Avonmore, the son of the late Donald C. and Anne Vresilovic Speedy. Before his retirement, he was employed by Smithfield (North Side) Food in Arnold. He also worked for Andree Equipment, in Saltsburg, as a sandblaster.  Teddy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Avonmore, where he was very active as a youth counselor.  He was a 1973 graduate of Kiski Area High School. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Linda Shoupe Speedy, a son James Theodore “Jimmy” Speedy II, two brothers; Scott Speedy of Munhall, and Patrick Speedy and his wife Debbie of Mesa, Arizona, two sisters; Coleen Summerson and her husband Bob of Saltsburg and Loree Bowers and her husband Mark of West Newton. Family will receive friends on Sunday December 4, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 400 Indiana Ave. Avonmore, Pa. Services will be conducted on Monday December 5, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore.
