Ila Wood Doverspike, 82, of Apollo, Pa. passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at UPMC East in Monroeville, Pa. She was born Monday, November 25, 1935 in Eubank, KY, the daughter of the late W.C and Nina White Wood. She was a member of the North Apollo Church of God. She loved traveling, especially to her favorite place in the world, Disney World, going to church and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by 3 children, Ronnie Stefaniak and her husband Ron of Apollo, Rhonda Carpenter and her husband Kirk of Auburn, In., Sharon Buddette of Apollo, 1 sister, Charlotte Hogan and her husband Frank of Florida, a brother Boyce Wood of Anderson, In., 8 grandchildren, Dara Bush, Darrick Gerano, Brad Gerano, Angel Taylor, Erin Weier, Kyle Carpenter, Drew Stefaniak and Brandon Stefaniak, 21 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren and her best friend Maxine Saxion. In addition to her parents, she is preceded death by her husband, who was the love of her life, Ronald W. Doverspike in 2011, a daughter, Leegene Gerano, 4 brothers, T.R. Wood, Hal Wood, Rod Wood, and Pete Wood. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the North Apollo Church of God with Pastor Robert Shallenberger, officiating. Family will receive friends from Noon until time of services. Interment is private. Family suggests memorial contributions be made in Ila's memory to the American Cancer Society, 510 Pellis Road, Greensburg, Pa. 15601.
