Barry Alan "Bear" Akins Jr

Barry Alan Akins Jr. 37 of Vandergrift passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in Sharpsburg, Pa. He was born on Sunday November 4, 1979 in Vandergrift the son of Barry A. (Sr.) and Cynthia Trusiak Akins.  He was employed as a machinist at Kasunick Manufacturing. Barry enjoyed the outdoors, loved going to the family camp in Marionville, listening to all kinds of music, especially “Punk Rock”, but most of all he loved his family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Ami Leigh Weaver Akins, three children; Hunter Alan Akins, Landon Akins, and Nikayla Pollock, and his brother, Craig Akins of Vandergrift. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Stella Trusiak,  his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Martha Akins, and his uncle John Akins. Family will receive friends on Saturday October 28, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. in the Kelly L. Corridoni Funeral Home Ltd. 1916 Moore Ave. North Apollo. Services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment will be private.
