A. Ruth Eckman 88 of Cabot, formerly Apollo, passed away Wednesday May 25, 2016 at Concordia, Cabot, Pa. She was born September 9, 1927 in North Vandergrift, the daughter of the late Alex and Frances T. Kennerdell McComb. Ruth is a member of the First Church of God in North Apollo, and the Apollo area Senior Citizens, where she was a volunteer for many years. Ruth loved her church and participated in many activities there, including teaching Sunday school. She is survived by her son, Keith D. Eckman of Avonmore, three daughters; Kathy Quade and her husband Marshall of Pinckney, Michigan, Brenda Futch and her husband Freddy of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Kimberly Miller and her husband Samuel of North Apollo, eight grandchildren; Margo Veenstra, Melissa Swieringa, Lisa Hendrick, Laura James, Jason McWilliams, Justin McWilliams, Jordan Miller, and Joshua Miller, and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Herman K. Eckman, a daughter, Glenna Denise Eckman, two brothers; Edgar McComb, and Alex McComb Jr., and her sister, Elsie Marhoff.  Family will receive friends on Saturday May 28, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary of the First Church of God in North Apollo. Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Robert Shallenberger officiating. In Lieu of flowers family suggests contributions be made in Ruth’s Memory to her church; The First Church of God; P.O. Box 5, North Apollo, Pa. 15673.
